Fight breast cancer with fun run/walk
Set aside Saturday, Oct. 13 to help make a difference during the breast cancer walk/run in Gettysburg.
The second annual event is being organized to raise money with the proceeds staying in the Gettysburg area to help with breast cancer detection and prevention. Individuals, families, and teams are encouraged to participate in the fundraiser in either of two categories.
A mile-long family walk and kid’s fun run and a 5K run or walk will start at 9 a.m. There is a fee to register, and participants who register by Wednesday, Sept. 26 will receive a free t-shirt and prize bag. Even if you are reading this after the deadline, please sign up!
The event is again being organized locally by Kelsey Fischer, who owns and operates the Vibe Salon in Gettysburg.
To add to the fun, and in the spirit of the Halloween season, everyone is encouraged to wear costumes for the Oct. 13 event, and prizes will be awarded in different categories for both adults and children.
Anyone and everyone may register, and although you can create your own team, teams are not required to participate.
Registration forms are available at the salon, the GHS office, and Vilas.
