School board held special meeting Oct. 17

The Gettysburg Board of Education held a special meeting on the above date in the high school library.  Present were the following:  Matt Cronin, Tom Fairbanks, Kevin Geditz, Paul Kellogg, and  Ryan Lake.  Absent:  Kay Schmidt and Kimberly Schweiss.  Also present were Tim Hagedorn, Wendy Smith, Barb Everson, Dean Marske and Scott Sikkink from HKG, Molly McRoberts, John Lake, Jeff Goebel, Kevin Logan and Bill Wuttke.
The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Vice President Cronin called the meeting to order at 6 PM.  Motion by Geditz, second by Lake to approve the agenda.  All present voted aye.  Motion carried.
The board and building committee discussed the current JH/HS building, possible renovations and discussed a new building.  Scott Sikkink and Dean Marske from HKG were present and will come to the next board meeting and present scenarios and costs for renovations along with scenarios and costs for a new building.  In the interim, they will meet with Supt. Hagedorn and Principal Smith for curriculum needs and spaces.
The next meeting will be either on Monday Nov. 12th or Wed Nov. 14th at 6PM depending on attendees’ schedules.
Motion by Kellogg, second by Lake to adjourn the meeting.  All present voted aye.  Motion carried.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:25 PM.
