First fingers first…

Share

Three-year-old Remy LeBeau gets his fingers ready for finger printing during the Mason’s Child ID program held at the Gettysburg School on Oct. 17. Remy was one of 121 young people in the community who were given identification packets for their parents to have on hand in the event of an emergency. Fingerprinting was just one aspect of the ID program, which also took photos, voice samples, dental impressions, and DNA swabs. Brad Saltsman, Conservation Officer with the SD Game, Fish and Parks Department, was one of the many volunteers who were on hand to help with the event, which was made possible through a donation of $1,000 made by the Gettysburg Rotary Club so there was no charge for any of the children to participate. Remy is the son of Jillian Waltman and Paul LeBeau of Gettysburg. The Mason’s Child ID program went to Hoven the following day where 78 children participated.
