Concert Sunday completes St. Anthony’s 125th year


Sunday afternoon’s “Christmas on the Prairie” concert at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Hoven marks the end of a year long parish celebration of its 125th anniversary.
Over 1,000 guests will fill the twin-spired church on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 2, for its ninth concert featuring the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra.
Northern University’s Chamber Choir will also be featured, as will Gettysburg native bari-tenor Cory Niles. This year he will sing “Pie Jesu.” A 56 member regional All-Faiths Festival Choir will also be included in the performance.
Because this year’s concert culminates the year-long celebration of St. Anthony’s 125th year as a South Dakota Catholic parish, the theme is “The Blessing—Celebrating 125 God-Filled Years.”
