Christmas Tree Extravaganza
The short, weekend blizzard cleared by Sunday afternoon for the annual Christmas Tree Extravaganza, sponsored by the Potter County Extension clubs, Chamber of Commerce, and Dakota Sunset Museum. There were 16 trees on display, with prizes in the adult category going to the Rivers Edge CFEL club in first place, second to the Oahe M and M’s, and third place to the Church of Latter Day Saints. In the youth division first went to the Lucky Clover 4H group, with second to the Sacred Heart CCD tree, and the Clover Buds 4H coming in third place. The trees were selected by a vote from the people who attended the event.
The Methodist Church choir, under the direction of Gail Larson entertained the crowd, and Mrs. Claus and her elf were on hand to read a story and sing a song with the children. Refreshments were served by members of the extension clubs.
The trees are on display at the museum throughout the month.
