Doloris Tennant, 92, of Gettysburg, died Dec. 30, 2012 at the Bowdle Nursing Home.
A service was held Jan. 5 at Luce Funeral Home in Gettysburg. At Doloris’s request there were no formal services.
Doloris M. Zuber was born Feb. 9, 1920, to George and Anna (Phillips) Zuber in Potter County, SD.
On Aug. 7, 1937, she married Lyle B. Tennant. She worked for the family trucking business, and earned a degree as an accountant and tax professional.
She was a member of Gettysburg Methodist Church, and was a Cub Scout Den mother and Girl Scout leader.
She is survived by her eight children: Phyllis Robinson of Dillon, MT; Leila Tiegen-Woods of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Mary (Dennis) Hagny of Gettysburg; Maurice “Mick” (Karen) Tennant of Lebanon; Sheila (Jim) Beringer of Rapid City; Brian (Lorraine) Tennant of North Ogden, UT; Brad (Brigid) Tennant of Aberdeen; and Tony (Donna) Tennant of Springfield; 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; infant son Gerald Dean; two brothers and two sisters.
Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg is in charge of arrangements.
