City accepting bids for hay land at airport

NOTICE TO BIDDERS
The Gettysburg City Council will be accepting bids for 20 acres more or less of hay land at the Gettysburg Airport for the years 2013-2017.  Sealed bids will be accepted at the City Finance Office until 5:00 pm CDT March 1, 2013. Bales are to be removed within 7 days of baling. Payment is due by June 15th each year or will be forfeited to the next highest bidder.
Bids will be opened and considered at the regular meeting of the Council on March 4, 2013 at 7:00 pm CDT.  The Council reserves the right to waive informality and to reject any and all bids.
If mailing bid please clearly mark on envelope “airport hay land bid”.
Please note the bid given will be for the dollar amount indicated for each year.
Successful bidder will be responsible for control of noxious weeds on all rented land for duration of the lease agreement while maintaining good environmental practices to preserve trees and shrubs on the property.
Successful bidder will be receiving the Farm Service Agency annual payment of around $240.00 so bid should be not less than $475.00 to the City of Gettysburg. If the Farm Service Agency annual payment decreases or is discontinued then this bid amount shall be reviewed accordingly.
