Emergency crews called to Post Office Saturday

Gettysburg EMTs and law enforcement were called to the back lot of the local post office Saturday afternoon.
Rollie Haar, 81, of Aberdeen, was found unconscious. Despite efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead at the Avera-Gettysburg hospital.
Haar had driven the mail delivery truck between Gettysburg and Aberdeen for several years. He was preparing to transfer the local mail to Aberdeen when the emergency call was made around 4 p.m. on May 11.
The incident is under investigation by the Gettysburg Police Department, Potter County Sheriff’s Department, and the SD Highway Patrol. No foul play is suspected.
