Car show and fun in the park on Saturday
The stage is set for Saturday when the annual Dakota Kruzers car show will take place at the Gettysburg City Park.
The car show registration runs from 10 a.m. to noon, with the “show and shine” running until 4 p.m.
During the afternoon, live music will be presented by “Portland Junction” which is a country rock band that promises to get the party started. The local fire department will be selling beer, beverages, and grilled brats throughout the event, and the Gettysburg Chamber of Commerce is hosting free inflatable bouncers for the kids during the afternoon.
The band will start up again at 8 p.m. and play until midnight, and the show will be topped off with a spectacular fireworks display scheduled for around 10 p.m.
This is the 11th annual Dakota Kruzers Summer Run car show, which has become the community’s major summer event. The car club hosts classic car fans from across the region to participate in the event and vie for trophies, while enjoying a fun day with live music, food, and beverages.
The fireworks display at the city park is funded entirely by donations, and contributions may be made to the Gettysburg Chamber Fireworks Fund. Donations may be left at the Chamber office located at the Potter County News, or mailed to the Chamber at PO Box 33, Gettysburg, SD 57442.
