Benefit scheduled for Jim Schneider on Aug. 10
A benefit is planned for Jim Schneider to help defray medical expenses.
Jim Schneider has suffered from pulmonary fibrosis, also called “farmer’s lung,” since April 2010. In June he was the recipient of a double lung transplant in addition to a double heart bypass at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
A benefit is being held at the American Legion on Saturday night to help defray medical expenses.
He and his wife, Ladonna, have been in Rochester since April preparing for and recovering from the surgery. His rehabilitation takes at least three months from the time of the surgery, followed by regular checkups at Mayo.
A benefit and silent auction will be held on Aug. 10 starting at 6 p.m. There are some great items on the silent auction, including Broncos tickets, a camping package, a welcome sign made from horse shoes, a Kindle Fire HD, kids basket of books and toys, and blankets made by Ladonna’s mother. They also have windshield repair certificates, loads of gravel, and gift certificates, along with many other items.
Silent auction and cash donations may still be made to Jim by contacting American Legion manager Brandi Valentz at 769-0561 or 765-2854, Bruce Zebroski at 769-9280, Shawna Shaw at 769-1892, or Sandy Hagny at 769-1064. Donations may also be made at Great Western Bank.
