Mural project at tennis courts next week
Area artists can have a hand in painting a mural at the Gettysburg tennis court next week.
Mark Zimmerman, who has painted several murals in Gettysburg over the years, is being brought to town through the help of the High Plains Arts Council to paint a mural on the shed by the tennis courts.
Anyone who would like to help is encouraged to stop by and paint the project. Everything is provided, except for painting clothes, so dress in something that won’t hurt to have some paint splatter and paint a section of the mural.
This year Zimmerman is also bringing a graffiti artist with him who will “jazz up” the mural. The artist, Aaron M. Pearcy, is known as AMP, and he had done a number of murals in the Black Hills.
Students are encouraged to stop after school and participate in the mural painting, and everyone from the community is invited to take part.
