City Council held special meeting Aug. 19

Pursuant to the due call and notice thereof, the City Council met in special session on August 19, 2013 at 7:00 PM. Those present Mayor Bill Wuttke, Council members Ron Larson, Pat Everson, Fran VanBockel, Bryan Hause and Dawn Nagel. Also present was Russell Anderson Maint. Supervisor, Sharleen Eliason, Finance Officer, Bill Wainman, Chief of Police, Josh Bausch, Gayle Kludt, GWBDC, and GWBDC board members: Beth Joachim, Shirlee Drew, Imelda Simon, Sandy Hagny and Ryan Persoon.
Father Jerry Kopel contacted the Mayor regarding the stop sign by the Catholic Church. Moved by Everson, VanBockel seconded, motion carried to table this until next meeting.
An employment application for Fran Van Bockel as a certified EMT was presented to the council for their approval. Moved by Larson seconded by Hause, motion carried to approve this application at a wage of $15.00 per hour.
Budget for 2014 was presented to the Council.
The following changes were made to the 2014 budget: Swimming pool equipment reduced from $15,000.00 to $10,425.000 and Economic Development from $35,000.00 to $30,000.00 for a grand total of $1,421,000.00 for Expenses. No changes for Revenue.
Moved by VanBockel, Nagel seconded, motion carried (Hause-nay) to budget $30,000.00 and all of the Triple B Funds to Gettysburg Whitlock Bay Development  Corporation for 2014.
Moved by Hause to approve the proposed 2014 budget and to add to this motion dropping the Gettysburg Whitlock Bay Development Corporation to  $28,000.00 or less for the total budget.  Motion died for lack of a second.
Moved by VanBockel, Nagel, seconded, motion carried (Hause-nay) to approve the 2014 proposed budget for the Grand total of $1,421,000.00 and to have the first reading of Ordinance 2013-8-8.
In round table Council member VanBockel stated that Jensen is here to pave the streets. Council member Nagel asked that the trees by the stop sign at Karen Doerr’s be trimmed. Council member Everson stated that the next time we do need a signed contract by Jensen Rock & Sand for a more timely arrival for street improvements as they were delayed three weeks.
There being no further business moved by Hause, Everson second, motion carried to adjourn at 9:35 PM.
