Cleopha Hall, 83, of Gettysburg died on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013 at the Avera Oahe Manor, Gettysburg.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 2, at the United Methodist Church, Gettysburg with Pastor Jeff Adel officiating. Burial will follow in the Gettysburg Cemetery.
Cleopha Ann (Zimmerman) Hall was born May 23, 1930 at the Green Lake Ranch in Lincoln Township, to Mable (Trimble) and Bruce Zimmerman. She attended Gettysburg Schools.
She married Walter (Dale) Hall at Pierre and had six children together.
Cleo was active in Rebekah Lodge, on the local, district and state levels, receiving the “Decoration of Chivalry” in June 1978. She was a tour chaperone for the U.N. Pilgrimage Educational Tours, sponsored by the Odd Fellow and Rebekah Lodges, for the years 1973, 1976, 1978, and 1979.
Cleo was an active member of the Methodist Mother’s Club that was organized in 1950, and participated in many other church activities.
Cleo was a site manager at the Ben-Anne Apartments in Gettysburg under Specker Enterprises and APC Management for over 10 years. She also worked at the Medicine Rock for 20+ years.
Cleo enjoyed her children, her grandchildren, her work, square dancing, social dancing, roller skating, traveling, and painting.
She moved to Pierre in 2003. She worked in the lunch program at McKinley school until she moved back to the Villa in August of 2013 due to failing health and a 15 year battle with Leukemia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Arlene Jager; three brothers, Elmer, George, and Milton (Slick) Zimmerman; and one son, Pat Hall.
She is survived by her children, Perry (Jean) Hall, Sioux Falls, SD; Robin Hall, Apache Junction, AZ; Roylin Hall, Watertown, SD; Joann (Peter) Stoddard, Huber Heights, OH; and Lana (Mel) Holzwarth, Gettysburg, SD, 15 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
