Breast Cancer run/walk Saturday
Runners and walkers will put on costumes Saturday morning to help fight breast cancer.
The third annual family walk/run is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 12 in Gettysburg starting at the track at Battler Field. Registration runs from 8 to 8:55 a.m. with the race starting at 9 a.m.
Funds raised at the event stay in the Gettysburg area to help fight breast cancer. This year a free will offering will be held to raise funds to help Lila Hericks with her treatment expenses. There will also be raffle tickets sold for a chance to win two Chi Flat Irons in a drawing at the end of the race.
To add to the fun in the spirit of Halloween, everyone is encouraged to wear costumes for the event, and prizes will be awarded for different categories for both adults and children.
Anyone and everyone may register, and although you can create your own team, teams are not required to participate.
Registration forms are available at the Vibe Salon, the GHS office, and Vilas. People can still register on Saturday morning, but t-shirt sizes will be distributed on availability on a first-come basis.
