Shop and play on Saturday with parade and firemen’s ball
You’ll want to be sure and stick around this Saturday to get a jump on the holiday fun in Gettysburg!
The electric parade is back on this year and will be led by the State Champion Potter County Battlers, who will be riding the firetrucks to greet their fans. After the parade, you can meet the Battlers at a free-will soup supper sponsored by the Masons, where the team will be handing out souvenir mini footballs to the first 100 kids through the door.
Also joining in the fun will be Gettysburg’s Snow Queens, Miss Gettysburg Alli Lake and Junior Miss Gettysburg Sierra Weiseler.
The area businesses are geared up for the holidays and have some great deals to make your Christmas gift giving great, so check out the ads in this week’s paper to start making your list for everyone needing presents this year.
Topping off the evening will be the 104th anniversary of the Firemen’s Ball at the Legion Building where adults can dance the night away to the band “Eclipse” starting at 9 p.m. The ball is the annual fundraiser for the local fire department, and they will also be holding a gun raffle during the event.
Anyone who wants to join in the electric parade to kick off the holidays and celebrate the State Champion Battlers can line up east of the Oahe Manor on Saturday night at 5:45. The parade will start at 6 p.m.
For those watching the parade, come downtown early and do a little shopping!
