Rolland Bruce Potter


Rolland Bruce Potter, 77, of Seneca, died Dec. 20, 2013 at his home.
Funeral service were Dec. 27 at the United Church of Faulkton with Pastor Bill Hoffman officiating. Burial followed at Oakland Cemetery, Seneca with military honors.
Rolland Bruce was born Sept. 24, 1936 to Rolland O. and Hazel (Miller) Potter in Seneca.  He graduated from high school at Faulkton in 1954. He worked for Wilhelm Construction and the Berry Ranch before volunteering in 1957 for the U.S. Army where he served in Korea in the artillery south of the DMZ.
He married Janice Bingeron Valentine’s Day in 1960.
He was a dragline operator and  Standard Oil distributor at Seneca.
He was a member of the Seneca Methodist Church and the IOOF lodge.
He is survived by his children: Rolland (Carol) Potter of Seneca, Connie Woodring of Brookings, and Brian (Shiela) Potter of Faulkton, 12 grandchildren; one brother, Willard (Marion) Potter of Belle Fourche.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janice; one sister, Adella (Alford) Martschinske.
Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Bruce’s arrangements.
