World Day of Prayer March 7
People in more than 170 countries and regions will celebrate World Day of Prayer on Friday, March 7. This year, the women of the WDP Committee of Egypt invite all into a time of worship with the words of the prophet Isaiah; “I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the desert.”
It is the focus day in which all religions around the world come together to celebrate the World Day of Prayer and the stranger among us. It is the day to honor all those around the world who reach out and transform the stranger into the friend.
World Day of Prayer is a worldwide ecumenical movement of Christians of many traditions who come together to observe a common day of prayer each year on the first Friday in March. Services begin at sunrise in the Pacific and follow the sun across the globe on the day of celebration.
This year’s service will be held on at the Grace Bible Church in Gettysburg with a lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m. and a short program beginning at 12 noon.
It is free and all denominations are welcome.
