GETTYSBURG, SD
Chairman Simon called an adjourned meeting of the Potter County Board of Commissioners to order at 8:00 A.M. in the Commissioners Room at the Courthouse.  Other Commissioners present: Worth, Maroney, Arbach and Williams.
CONSOLIDATED BOARD
OF EQUALIZATION
W/GETTYSBURG CITY
Moved by Williams seconded by Arbach to adjourn as a Board of County Commissioners and convene as a Consolidated Board of Equalization with Gettysburg City. All voted aye.  Motion carried. Each member signed the oath to fairly and impartially perform their duties as a member of the Consolidated Board of Equalization.
No appeals were filed from Gettysburg City.
Moved by Arbach, seconded by Williams to adjourn as a Consolidated Board of Equalization with  Gettysburg City.  All voted aye.  Motion carried.

Moved by Worth seconded by Maroney to convene as a Consolidated Board of Equalization with Lebanon Town.  All voted aye.  Motion carried. Each member signed the oath to fairly and impartially perform their duties as a member of the Consolidated Board of Equalization.
No appeals had been filed with the County Auditor.
Moved by Worth, seconded by Arbach to adjourn as a Consolidated Board of Equalization with Lebanon Town.  All voted aye.  Motion carried.
COUNTY BOARD
OF EQUALIZATION
Moved by Worth, seconded by Williams to adjourn as a Consolidated Board of Equalization and convene as a County Board of Equalization.  All voted aye.  Motion carried.  Each member signed the oath to fairly and impartially perform their duties as a member of the County Board of Equalization.
1. Richard G. Bersaw filed an objection to the real property assessment on Lots 4 & 5, Block 18 Way’s Plat, Hoven Town of $28,449.  Moved by Arbach, seconded by Worth to make no change to the value.  All voted aye.  Motion carried.
2. LeRoy Kleinsasser, et al filed an objection to the real property assessment on Lot 1 Bob’s Resort Subdivision in 29-118-78 of $21,847. Moved by Williams, seconded by Arbach to lower the value from $21847 to $15,000.  All voted aye. Motion carried.
3. Elroy Todd filed an objection to the real property assessment on 157 acres located in the NW1/4 of 19-117-74 of $214,931.  Moved by Worth, seconded by Williams to make no change to the value.  All voted aye.  Motion carried.
APPLICATION FOR
EXEMPT PROPERTY STATUS
An application from the Emmanuel Lutheran Church on the S Sixty Feet (S60) of Lot 4, 5 and 6, Block 1, Schlachter’s Addition to the City of Gettysburg, Potter County, South Dakota, was reviewed.  The house will be used for Sunday School purposes.  Moved by Worth, seconded Williams to approve the application.  All voted aye.  Motion carried.
DISABLED VETERAN EXEMPT
PROPERTY TAX STATUS
Three applications for property tax exemption status according to SDCL 10-4-40 was reviewed.  Moved by Williams, seconded by Arbach to approve the applications for Disabled Veteran Exempt Property Tax Status.  All voted aye.  Motion carried.
ASSESSMENT FREEZE
FOR ELDERLY AND DISABLED
Eight applications for the Elderly and Disabled Assessment Freeze were reviewed.  Moved by Worth, seconded by Williams that all requirements had been met to qualify for the 2014 tax freeze.  All voted aye.  Motion carried.

Moved by Maroney, seconded Worth to approve the following tax exempt properties. All voted aye. Motion carried.

HIGHWAY DEPT.
Hwy Supt. Smith met to discuss spot graveling on various roads throughout the County.  Smith informed the Board of pulling of the shoulders before any graveling can be done.  Load limits will not be removed until the end of April.  Dakota Tree Trimming will remove the trees in the County right of ways for approx. $200.00 per hour.
