DeAnna Kay Bubbles Parks


A funeral service for DeAnna Kay Bubbles Parks, 69, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Wyoming State Fairgrounds ­ Ag Building in Douglas, Wyoming with the Reverend Linda Wells of the First United Methodist Church officiating. DeAnna Parks died Friday, March 23 at the Memorial Hospital of Converse County in Douglas. She was born Nov. 3, 1942 in Gettysburg, South Dakota, the daughter of Joseph and Eldora (McCalmy) Tobin. She was raised and educated in Gettysburg. She was married to Harold Eugene Parks on April 18, 1960 in Gettysburg, and together they had six children. In 1969 the family moved to Gillette, Wyoming, and in 1971 they moved to Douglas. She drove pilot cars for several years with Harold. Bubbles was an avid football fan and loved fishing and country western music. She was known as the Card Lady. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 35 years, Women of the Moose for 35 years, VFW Auxiliary for 37 years, and the Eagles for 40 years. She is survived by her children, Marvin Parks, Julie Bird, Darlene (Jess) Cooper, Richard (Tara) Parks, Brian (Mandy) Parks all of Douglas and Twila Hutchings of Glenrock, Wyoming; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Merle Tobin, of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Jerry Tobin of Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; great-granddaughter, Kyleigh Parks; six sisters; and four brothers. A memorial to the choice of the donor would be appreciated by the family.
