Primary election Tuesday, June 3


Voters will head to the polls on  Tuesday, June 3, to determine who will represent each political party during the fall general election while also determining the race for some.
Those voting in the Democratic primary will choose a candidate for S.D. Governor between Susan Wismer and Joe Lowe.
The Republicans will choose a U.S. Senator candidate from a field including Stace Nelson, Mike Rounds, Dr. Annette Bosworth, Jason Ravnsborg, and Larry Rhoden.
They will also determine a candidate for Governor between Lora Hubbel and incumbent Dennis M. Daugaard.
Two State Representatives from District 23 will be chosen from a field of five candidates including Larry Nielson, Dale Hargens, Gene W. Toennies, Michelle Harrison, and incumbent Justin Cronin.
Voters in District Five, which covers the north side of Gettysburg and the northwest portion of the county, will select a representative on the Potter County Commission between Karen S. Doerr and incumbent Delvin C. Worth. Read more about those candidates on page 3 of the News.
Polls will be open for the primary election from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in all the voting precincts in Potter County.
The polling places are located at the American Legion Community Building in Gettysburg, and the Hoven Legion Hall in Hoven.
Voters with disabilities may contact the Potter County Auditor’s office at 765-9408 for information and special assistance in absentee voting or polling place accessibility.
