City seeks bids for airport improvements

Sealed bids for Access Road and Parking Improvements on the site of the Gettysburg Municipal Airport, Gettysburg, South Dakota will be received by the City of Gettysburg, Gettysburg, South Dakota until 2:00 P.M. (local time), on July 3, 2014. All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud in City Hall, Gettysburg, South Dakota.
The bid documents are to be mailed or delivered to Shar Eliason, City Finance Officer, City of Gettysburg, 109 East Commercial Avenue, Gettysburg, SD 57442-0132 and shall be sealed and endorsed, “Gettysburg Municipal Airport, AIP No. 3-46-0017-09-2014, Access Road and Parking Improvements”.
The proposed project includes the following:
Grading, Base Course, Class E Asphalt Concrete, Concrete Valley Gutter, Pavement Markings and Miscellaneous Items
Plans and specifications are on file and may be seen at City Hall, Gettysburg, South Dakota or at the offices of Goldsmith Heck Engineers, 111 2nd Street East, Mobridge, SD 57601 or 524 N Sycamore Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD 57110.
Copies of the plans and specifications and other bidding contract documents may be obtained by payment of $50.00 (non refundable) to Goldsmith Heck Engineers, 524 N Sycamore Avenue, Suite 1, Sioux Falls, SD 57110 for each set so obtained. An optional, no charge complete set of digital project bidding documents are available.  Please email request to mwiederr.goldeng@midconetwork.com.
Each bid in excess of $25,000.00 shall be accompanied by either a certified check, cashier’s check or draft in a sum equal to five percent (5%) of the maximum bid price and drawn on a State or National Bank or a bid bond in a sum equal to ten percent (10%) of the maximum bid price.
The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Contract Performance Bond and Payment Bond in the full amount of the Contract.
The proposed contract is subject to minimum wage rates as established by the Department of Labor for this project and are contained in the project manual.
The work shall be commenced within ten (10) consecutive calendar days after the date of issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The project shall be substantially completed by September 26, 2014.
Award of contract or contracts will be contingent upon securing funding from the Federal Aviation Administration.
The overall goal for Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation for this project is 3.02 percent.
