McCloud Memorial bull ride in Lebanon Sunday
The west side of Lebanon will become a rodeo arena on Sunday afternoon when cowboys ride in memory of Potter County auctioneer, Gary McCloud.
The Gary McCloud Memorial Bull Riding was organized by members of the Lebanon community to help raise funds for an auctioneering school scholarship in McCloud’s name.
The day will start with an Old Timers Tractor Pull at 1 p.m., and the calcutta will get underway at 5:30 on June 22. The cowboys will start the bull ride at 6 p.m.
Ron Simon said this is the first year for the memorial bull ride, and he hopes it will be the first of many. He is helping to organize the event with help from folks all across Potter County. He said that McCloud was well known in the region and was a good friend to the Lebanon community.
The stock is provided by Weischedel Bucking Bulls, and $3,000 has been added to the purse to bring out the riders. There is a charge at the gate, with children under six admitted for free. A kids candy scramble will add some fun to the evening for the youngsters, and there will be concessions available at the event.
McCloud died in Hoven on Feb. 4 at the age of 63. He and his wife, Cindy, are the parents of Shane, Sam, Katrina, Chelsey, and Amanda.
