Weekend incidents in Potter County

No serious injuries were reported as a result of incidents that happened in Potter County over the weekend.
According to Potter County Sheriff Curt Hamburger, on Saturday evening Scott Little, 41, of Mellette, was driving a golf cart down the hill to the South Whitlock boat ramp. The electric golf cart did not have good enough brakes, and as a result it rolled when the driver tried to turn off onto the gravel parking lot. Little suffered a knee injury, and an eight-year-old passenger was treated and released from the hospital with minor cuts and bruises.
Sheriff Hamburger also reported that over the weekend around 1500 gallons of fertilizer leaked into the drainage system at Northern Plains. The DENR was contacted and Logan Electric Construction cleaned up the contaminated dirt and gravel.
Sheriff Hamburger said there was no danger to the public as a result of the leak.
