Sports meeting is Thursday, Aug. 7

Students will be headed back to school before you know it, with classes in Gettysburg starting Tuesday, Aug. 26.
Registration for junior high and high school students has yet to be determined. Parents and students will be notified when to register and get locker assignments. Parents and students are encouraged to purchase meals and activity tickets at the business office before school starts. The business office is located across the hall from where it has been in the past, in the elementary building.
Concussion baseline tests need to be completed before sports practices start, and will be discussed at the athletic organization meetings on Thursday, Aug. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Gettysburg city auditorium, and again in Hoven at the elementary school on Friday, Aug. 8 at 7:30 p.m. Forms and testing times will be scheduled for baseline concussions. The baseline tests are required every two years.
Football and volleyball practices start on Aug. 14, and cross country practices start on Aug. 18, but only for the athletes who have completed their concussion baseline tests.
Check out the back-to-school information on page 16 of the News for more details.
Enjoy the end of vacation!
