Highway detour during natural gas leak Monday
A block of US 212 through town was closed to traffic on Monday morning while crews worked to fix a broken gas line.
Traffic was routed around the 500 block of Garfield Avenue from Broadway to Harrison when a natural gas line in that area was accidentally cut during construction work. Crews from Montana-Dakota Utilities quickly arrived at the site to join forces with the city and local construction crews to repair the break.
Local law enforcement and the volunteer fire department helped to re-route traffic while the work was being done to repair the gas line. The detour was in place for around two hours.
