Charles E. Strader, 81, Gettysburg, died April 25, 2012 at the Oahe Manor, Gettysburg. Funeral services were April 27 at the United Methodist Church, Gettysburg with Pastor Jeff Adel officiating. Burial was at the Grandview Cemetery, Ft. Collins, CO with Pastor Scott Coerber officiating. Charles “Chuck” Edward Strader was born in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky on March 7, 1931 to James Courtland and Hazel Eurla (Thompson) Strader. He attended country school through the seventh grade before beginning his work life as a farmer, coalminer and construction worker. On Oct. 29, 1951 Chuck married Jo Ann Reichenbach. Chuck is survived by his wife of Gettysburg, SD; daughter, Susan Jo (Clair) Knapp of Windsor, CO; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Vicky and brothers James Cleveland, Billy Ray and Rondall Strader. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be directed to the charity of your choice. Luce Funeral Home of Gettysburg and Bohlender Funeral Chapel of Ft. Collins, CO are in charge of Chuck’s arrangements.
