Moonlight golf tourney Friday night raises money for cancer and hospice
Friday marks the sixth annual American Cancer Society Moonlight Golf Tournament at the Gettysburg Country Club.
Funds from this year’s event will also be shared with Compassionate Care Hospice.
The evening starts with a social hour at 5 p.m. followed by a brat feed along with a bean bag tournament at 6 p.m.
Raffles and door prizes will be part of the evening along with a “decorate your cart and yourself” contest in addition to a silent auction.
Tournament golfing starts at 9 p.m. with registration taking place until 8:30 p.m. Bring your own team for the four person scramble. There is a fee to participate in the tourney.
The event is organized in honor of Dick “Papa” Shutter who died from cancer on Aug. 14, 2006. His daughter, Stacy Larson, and his wife, Sandi Shutter, worked to organize the tournament in his honor.
All proceeds from the event will be divided between the American Cancer Society and Compassionate Care Hospice.
