Dorothy Paulson
Dorothy Paulson, 83, Mitchell, died Friday, April 17, 2009, at Firesteel Healthcare Center, Mitchell.
Funeral services were held Monday at Bittner Funeral Chapel, Mitchell. Burial will be in Gettysburg Cemetery, Gettysburg.
She was born on Oct. 26, 1925, at Forest City to Ernest and Margaret (Kula) Voorhees.
She graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1943.
On April 4, 1945, she married Lyle Paulson in Pierre.
They lived in Long Beach, Calif., from 1951 to 1952, and then returned to Gettysburg, where she was a bookkeeper for many years.
She had been a resident of Mitchell since 1991.
She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Gettysburg and had been a member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by two children: Nancy Mitchell and husband Steve, Valrico, Fla.; and Paul and wife Joyce, Mitchell; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two sisters: Lucille Simon, Lebanon; and Margaret Nagel, Mount Shasta, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers and one sister.
