Arthur “Art” Hepper, 84, of Gettysburg, died Nov. 30, 2018 at Avera St. Mary’s Hospital, Pierre.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 5 at Luce Funeral Home, Gettysburg, with the Rev. Jeff Adel presiding. Burial will be 11 a.m., Dec. 6 at the Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis. Visitation will be one-hour prior to the service.
Arthur Hepper was born July 23, 1934 in Lowry, SD to Jacob and Magdalena (Bieber) Hepper. He later attended rural country school in Potter County.
On Dec. 2, 1954, Art enlisted in the United States Army serving until Nov. 30, 1956. He returned to South Dakota where he worked construction. In 1974 Art returned to farming, which he did for the next 44 years.
Art is survived by one brother, Donald (Sandra) Hepper of Onida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Esther Knecht, Ruth Nagel, Hazel Nagel, Joyce Scheller, and Patricia Moore; and four brothers Arnold, James, Clyde, and William Hepper.
