Battler Homecoming at GHS gets underway next week

Homecoming will get underway next week, Sept. 4-7 in Gettysburg.
This year’s parade is following a Walt Disney style theme of, “All your dreams can come true, if you have Battler power in you!” Members of the community are invited to join in next Friday’s parade which starts at 1:30 p.m. Please call the school at 765-2436 to let them know you plan to participate by Friday morning at 9 a.m. Parade line up starts around 1 p.m. on the east side of Commercial Avenue.
Following the parade, a pep rally will be held at the school gym. The week will kick off with coronation on Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 7:30 in the GHS gym. Coronation will be followed by the football jersey auction. The royalty candidates selected by the student body are Tate Nafziger, Jace Everson, Cole Geditz, Austin Haberer, Jenna Schweiss, Cassidy Soper, Hallee Cronin, and Sydney Logan. The crowners at the event will be Jenna Vogel and Joshua Cordell.
Sports are a big part of the homecoming week, and the Lady Battlers at home playing Faulkton on Thursday night. The matches start at 6:30 and will be followed by the burning of the G pep rally. The cross country team will head to Ipswich on Saturday of homecoming week with the start at 10 a.m.
On Friday, Sept. 7 the Mighty Potter County Battlers will take on Eureka Bowdle for the homecoming game with a 7 p.m. kickoff.
