Doris E. Nathan


Doris E. Nathan, 67, of Wooster, OH died Friday, April 12, 2013 at Akron City Hospital.
She was born Aug. 10, 1945 in Gettysburg, SD, the daughter of Arthur and Anne Lassle Holzwarth. She married Alan E. Nathan on June 18, 1968.
Doris had a bachelor’s of education from Concordia College in St. Louis, Missouri and a Masters in Business from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.  She had been a school teacher for both public and private schools in St. Louis and had been the chief accountant at Union Electric in St. Louis, Missouri retiring in 1989.
Doris was a very active member of the Zion Lutheran Church, and was a member of AAUW.  She loved listening to books on tape and reading, enjoyed spending time with her family and loved planning trips and traveling and history.
Survivors include her husband, a son, Timothy (April) Nathan of Pittsburgh and a daughter, Jennifer Nathan of Washington, DC; granddaughter, Savannah Grace Nathan and brothers, James, Loren and William Holzwarth.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents
Services were held Monday at the Zion Lutheran Church, 301 N. Market St., Wooster with the Rev. Anne Paynter officiating.  Interment followed in Hope Memorial Gardens in Hinkley.
