Members of Gettysburg In Action put the finishing touches on the Angel Tree at Vilas in downtown Gettysburg. Another Angel Tree is located at Langer’s Family Foods and both trees have ornaments people may select that describe gifts for area children who will have a much brighter Christmas with a little help from area “angels.” Return the presents, unwrapped, to the trees by Dec. 18 and they will be wrapped and distributed before the holiday. The GIA also collects cash donations to help families enjoy a holiday meal. Nelson said that the generous response from the community for this project is overwhelming and it seems to grow each year. GIA members helping to decorate the tree are (l to r) GIA President Trish Ahlemeier, Angel Tree project coordinator Tami Nelson, and Jess Byre.
