Lydia E. Allerdings, age 91, of Huron, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at the SunQuest Health Care Center. Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, March 2, at the First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Tom Brantner officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 1 at the Kuhler Funeral Home, with her family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening.
Lydia Elizebeth Allerdings was born Sept. 5, 1920, to George and Barbara (Spitzer) Allerdings at Akaska, SD. She lived with her parents and moved with them to Tolstoy in 1960. In 1986 she and her mother moved to Huron.
Lydia was a member of the Tolstoy Church of God and became a member of the First Assembly of God Church when she moved to Huron. In 1989, Lydia moved into the Campus Apartments and was member of the Huron Area Senior Center and the Huron Adult Day Care.
She worked as a volunteer at the SunQuest Health Care Center for a number of years. In 2008, she entered the SunQuest Health Care Center. Lydia enjoyed reading and embroidering.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ottillie and Erna; and five brothers, Arthur Frederick, Arthur George, Leo, Edwin and Leslie.
Grateful for having shared in her life are three brothers, Harold (Mag) Allerdings of Green Isles, Minnesota, Rueben (Delores) Allerdings of Huron and Marvin (Gladys) Allerdings of Huron; one sister, Edna Vail of Spearfish; one sister-in-law, Edith Allerdings of Huron; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
