Sign up for Holiday Parade of Lights Nov. 24

The seventh annual Holiday Parade of Lights will hit Gettysburg’s main street on Saturday, Nov. 24.
The event is organized by the Gettysburg Free Masons, Eastern Star, and the Chamber of Commerce. A number of entries have already registered, and groups are asked to register online at or by calling the Chamber office at 765-2528.
Prizes of Chamber Cash will be awarded to the first, second, and third place floats. Winners will be selected by popular vote. Votes will be cast following the parade at the Masonic Lodge in Gettysburg at the soup supper.
The evening will be topped off by the 103rd anniversary of the Gettysburg Volunteer Fire Department’s annual Firemen’s Ball.
Float makers are encouraged to pull out the lights and dress up the flatbed in any Christmas style they can think of. No candy can be thrown from the floats, but Santa and Mrs. Claus will lead the parade, escorted by the fire department, and Boy Scout elves will pass out candy canes to those along the parade route. The parade will also be broadcast on 90.7 FM for vehicles parked on the parade route.
All entries are welcome!
