Taking it to the limit

Potter County gave it up for Purple Heart recipients from across the country who were in Gettysburg as part of the National Decorated Veterans Pheasant Hunt. The hunt is hosted by the Gettysburg VFW Post #8530 along with a number of volunteers to provide a pheasant hunt each fall for the veterans from across the country. Following an afternoon of hunting at the Robbennolt farm near Gettysburg, John Reeves from Ormond Beach, FL, WWII veteran William Kaunzinger from Niceville, FL, Clifton Brown from Cogswell, ND, Don Davis from Abilene, KS, Ed Stiteler from San Antonio, TX, and Tony Seahorn from Ft. Collins, CO, showed the pheasants they harvested along with some from others in the hunting party. The special guests will be in the area through Veterans Day.

One response to “Taking it to the limit”

  1. A special “Thank You” to the Gettysburg VFW Post #8530 along with the community and a number of volunteers who made the 2020 Decorated Purple Heart Veterans Pheasant Hunt a tremendous success! I was one of the veterans who was selected to participate and cannot fully express my gratitude to everyone who made the annual event an outstanding experience. Even with Covid restrictions, the local team of volunteers and donors made the hunt and associated activities a lifetime experience. Thank you to everyone!
