January 8, 2018

Monthly town board meeting was called to order by President James McRobets at 7:00pm. Present were board members Kilian, Lembke, McRoberts, Simon, and Trudo.  Also present were Hazel McRoberts, James Lembke, Steve Smith, and Janice Oaks.

Reading of the unapproved minutes from December 6, 2017 were gone over. By a motion of Kilian/2nd by Lembke, minutes were approved as read.  Motion passed.

Reading of the bills payable for the end of December and current bills presented for the month of January were gone over.  By a motion of Simon/2nd by Lembke, bills were approved for payment as follows.  Motion passed.

Bills Payable Liquor Account: Wages (December) $3,502.78, Lebanon Bar-Petty Cash 51.78, Krueger’s Food Fair 161.01, Republic National Distributing Co. 312.73, Northwest Beverage Inc. 940.15, Coca Cola 138.26, Pepsi 138.46, Jerome Beverage Inc. 414.45, Johnson Bros. 284.28, Hettinger-Mobridge Candy & Tobacco 567.33, Dakota Tom’s 139.10, Venture Communications 192.23, MDU  168.38, Hoven Hardware 12.98, Hoven Media Inc. 64.33, SD Dept. of Revenue & Regulations 425.09, Servall Uniform & Linen 22.97, Reuer Sanitation 64.79, Mid Dakota Water 117.00.

Bar Business: Monthly Round Up Birthday Supper will be held on Friday, January 26th at 7:30pm. Inventory will be taken on Thursday, February 1st at 10am.  Darts are still in full swing with teams preparing for State competition which will be held the third week in February and weekly Buck tournaments have started on Thursday nights at 7pm.

Old Business: Ron Simon reported that Mike Olson from Code Enforcement in Aberdeen wasn’t able to attend the meeting due to scheduling conflicts. Ron will get a hold of him to find out a time when he can set aside time to meet and then the board will call a special meeting so he can meet with everyone.

New Business: 2018 Assignments and Wages were discussed. By a motion of Kilian/2nd by Trudo the following will be assigned.

Board President: James McRoberts

Finance Officer: Rachelle Griese

Co-Chairs: Pat Kilian, Pat Lembke, Ronald Simon, and Dan Trudo

Official Legal Advisor: Austin B Hoffman – Hoven, SD

Official Depository: Plains Commerce Bank – Hoven, SD

Official Newspaper: Potter Co. News – Gettysburg, SD

Streets/Maintenance: McRoberts, Simon, and Trudo

Auditorium: Kilian and Lembke

Municipal Bar: Kilian, Lembke, McRoberts, Simon, and Trudo

WAGES:

Board Trustees: $40.00 per meeting attended

Finance Officer: $400.00 per month

Bar Manager: $1,600.00 per month with 10 paid vacation days and 6 paid sick leave days. Sick leave can’t accumulate to more than 12 days.

Full Time Bar Employees: $9.00 per hour with 5 paid vacation days and 6 paid sick leave days. Sick leave can’t accumulate to more than 12 days.

Part Time Bar Employees: $8.65 per hour.

Summer Maintenance: $18.00 per hour

Snow Removal & Truck Maintenance (Winter Months ONLY): $20.00 per hour.

Also in new business is the Municipal Election.  This year there will be ONE – 3 year term opening that is currently held by James McRoberts.  By a motion of Kilian/2nd by Simon, the board elected to hold their Municipal Election on the second Tuesday of April which will be April 10th, 2018 this year. Motion passed. Official Notice of Vacancy will be published twice in the Potter Co. News on 01-18-2018 and 01-25-2018 respectively.

With there being no further business to discuss, by a motion of Simon/2nd by Trudo, the meeting was adjourned at 8:27pm. Motion passed.

Next monthly meeting will be held on Monday February 5, 2018 at 7pm.
