World Day of Prayer Friday

People in more than 170 countries and regions will celebrate World Day of Prayer on Friday, March 1. The theme is “I was a stranger and you welcomed me.” It is the focus day in which all religions around the world come together to celebrate the World Day of Prayer and the stranger among us. It is the day we honor all those around the world who reach out and, by their reaching, transform the stranger into the friend. The stranger is someone all can related to, albeit at different levels of intensity. Father Jerry Kopel will offer insight, and all are welcome to come and join the event.
World Day of Prayers is a worldwide ecumenical movement of Christians of many traditions who come together to observe a common day of prayer each year on the first Friday in March. Services begin at sunrise in the Pacific and follow the sun across the globe on the day of celebration.
This year’s service will be held on at the Catholic Parish Hall with a lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m. and the program beginning at 12 noon. The session will end by 1 p.m.
It is free and all denominations are welcome.
